Remove a Hyperlink in an MS Word document

When you type an Internet or an email address, Word automatically formats the string of text as a hyperlink. If you don't want to keep the string of text as a hyperlink you can easily remove it using any of the following simple methods:

Type the web or email address e.g.  David.moyes@evertonfc.co.uk and then:

  • Hold down the Ctrl key and press the letter Z      (Ctrl+Z           the Undo shortcut)

  • Right click the hyperlink and select the Remove Hyperlink option, and lastly

  • Simply press the backspace key
